Webkit border edges remain after border radius

Hello and i hope that everyone is having a wonderful morning,

i am tinkering with a form input that i wish to be a circle, so border-radius 50%. All is well in Edge, IE and firefox. Chrome and Opera show edges that i cannot remove. I’ve tried border none, outline none, -webkit-appearance none. If it is not a border, then what is it? I’ve searched google for answers but i only find the opposite problem: people don’t want rounded edges. I want a circle from an input without any visible border/edges. Maybe someone knows how to remove these edges?

Thank you.

i’ve switched the input to a button rather than play around with this. I have no idea why edges are visible. Maybe developers of webkit prefer that we use a radio button if we want a circle. lol. I’ll move forward with a button and be happy.
