Updating PHP ( XAMPP )

Hello,

I’d like to update my PHP version running on my XAMPP Server. The current running version is to old and NOT secure. It’s possible to DoS my server or things like that.

Can anybody please help me to update it? I don’t know how to install / configure it. If I just put the newest PHP in my XAMPP folder the server doesn’t work ( for example it fails to connect to MySQL ).

Hi Mike,

what happens if you uninstall your present version and install the newest version?
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html has beside a pointer to a download also several pages of instruction on different installations.
