Hello I just wanted to first asking if this is the right forum for my question. Currently I am using a video script called Clip Bucket that I would like to change some code. Or is this not the place for that ?.

Well I’ll give you a small idea of where I’m at with this. I found this script thinking this would a great script to add a TV section to the site. When it was still in the beta stage.At the time it only needed ffmpeg and php to function to convert the videos. Now they came out with v2 and since then they have not replyed to any of the threads. So there is no option to only use ffmpeg and php alone.And I’m left out in the cold and offered no assistance at all to make it function on my site. So I’m stuck with v1.7 which works but I would like to make a few changes I just don’t know how,So I figured I’d find some help:).

Could you explain in more detail. This script is made up of numerous php file for the core and html for the look.
Well, Clip-Bucket is a large canned program. It comes with tons of options and settings. It also has it’s own forum that talks about changing the code.
We can help you if you show the code sample (A few lines or more) and ask your question about the code.
I am downloading the code and may be able to help. But, if their site’s forum can not help, ask away here.

I took a quick look at the clip-bucket system. It is very involved. Not really for a beginner to customize.
But, most of it looks fairly simple. I will upload it to my server tonight and create a site to play with.
It appears that this system came from the “SourceForge” site. This site is a programmers site and has projects for just about everything you can think of. (And, many you never thought about!) So, there are a lot of comments on changing things in the clip-bucket system there. But, again, not really for a beginner.
Since you stated you are not experience, you may want to look at slightly less robust alternatives.
One that is very easy to use and can be used with PHP is JWplayer. Here is a link to it…

This is NOT an entire site as clip-bucket is. It is a utility using a flash video player and some Javascript code that supports loading videos into the player, etc. It might be easier to add this to your current site instead of customizing a different entire site.
But, if you wish to continue with clip-bucket, we can help. Oh, also, it is very easy to use FFMPEG with PHP now. If you just want to add this to your current site, you can look at the ffmpeg-php extensions. This is a package, again from SourceForge that let’s PHP control the ffmpeg system. You can find it at:

FFmpeg is a system that allows for converting videos and now allows some streaming, etc… But, again, you actually never told us what you want to do with ffmpeg or clip-bucket, we are only guessing about what you want to do with TV and all… By the way, it is illegal to stream TV thru a site without permission. Just so it has been said.

First off let me say that I am not using this for illegal purposes.I run a PC gaming website and I chose this script because of the organizational capabilities. Example I will upload a battlefield 3 gameplay demo.
I have thought about using J.W. player for the videos. But that will be difficult because there are so many and it will be difficult to organize. I have no shell access for FFMPeg so I can’t do anything there. And I would switch WebHost’s but the economy has made it Difficult. I really Appreciate Your help with this “Cries”.
So which version of Clip Bucket did you download I have version 1.7.2 only because I could not get version two to work for my needs.

Well, I found JWplayer to work well, easy to configure. I created a small YouTube type page showing 20 or 30 videos with the list of videos, with comments and had it working well in just a few hours.
Now, if you still want to stick with ClipBucket, I am not sure which version I have. I will download your version.
So, to “fix” that version for you, what do you need altered? List the areas you are having issues with or even some code where you are getting errors at. I am sure we can help…
Hello again I just wanted to say thank you for the response and thank you for your help. Originally I had thought about using J.W. player. But once I thought about it It would be harder to design the page for that. Because I have been unable to integrate it into my own CMS. Then after I looked around and I found that video script and I liked the organizational capabilities of it so I decided to stick with that.
Now if that’s too much on you guys or anything but if we can make version two work with just FFmpeg and PHP I would really really appreciate it. If we can’t then if possible I’ve just like to make some small changes to the older version that I’m using. Again thank you I really really appreciate the help.Also like the other one I mention I did go to the forums & I asked for help. I put in two or three threads asking for help on older versions and nobody there was helpful. I got one reply they asked me what I want done and then sends me up PM or reply for 20 dollars. that’s what it’s come to.
PS I will try to see if i can narrow down the problem to a few files new.I may not know coding but I can still make it work. 
There are a lot of people that scan forums and try to get cash out of unaware members. This site is a free site and most members here will do their best to help you for free. You should never send money to someone on a free site unless you have talked to them by phone or other means and have verified they are actually a true business that can handle your needs.
Now, back to your problem. I have not been available much lately and have not had time to install ClipBucket on my server for testing, but, will soon. I did look over the code a little and found it covers just about everything. So, there is a large amount of code to learn to be able to support it or help someone with it. But, there appears to be a good forum on their site, so a lot of questions can be answered if you know what to ask of them.
So, the best procedure for us is to have you send us a link to the site you are working on so we can see the errors. (You can send it in a Personal-Message if you do not want everyone to see it!) And, give us a list of the areas you need to change. Since this is a canned open-source program the answers will most likely be easy to find on either the ClipBucket site or the original site that created it. So, link us to the site and send us a list of changes you need help with…

As you can see on the top right there are little options example being for full screen. I was hoping to use flow player with this I know most people use jwplayer but if its not to much to ask I really like the design of flow player.
