php login script via frontpage

would ANYONE know how the microsoft frontpage encrypts its PW’s? the problem is this…

i am writting a universial login script for our server. and INSTEAD of using a database to is often unreliable and clumbsy having to update everytime a new user is added and what about when they alter/update their PW’s themselfs? plus there are too many pw’s for clients to remember - so my solution is:

instide each of the clients accounts is the frontpage directories _vti_xxx . and the file " service.pwd " under the _vti_pvt directory. whne you have the same type of server setup like we do - most servers have cpanel, ect.

the problem: i can notm figure out the password is encrypted in that file so that i can compare the login requested sent pw and the stored local pw…

i have tried soooooo many different configs to crypt, with md5, sha1, and wwith raw outputs and so on…

ANYONE GOT ANY IDEAS??? I will totally share my app… - thanks
