Hey everyone, I need to make a forum and I was wondering the best way to go about it. I do not have my own domain name and I want to be hosted for free with no ads or anything. Any pointers in the right direction?
If you want hosting for free, there will likely be ads from hosting provider. Also, what do you mean by “make a forum”? Are you developing forum script from scratch? There are number of open source php forums that you can install and use for free (Simple Machines Forum, phpBB, punBB, etc.)
Unless your a very experienced developer, creating a forum from scratch is going to be a huge project.
Why not just download mybb or smf and make modifications to fit your needs? From what I understand mybb and smf are open source, and you can change anything in the base code.
