Making a comment system require a login to post - Iknow almost nothing about PHP

Hi again!

I was here a couple of days ago and asked for help, but then I forgot about it. I managed to solve the problem anyway.

I have a new problem, and I’m starting to think that someone like me can’t solve it. My skills with PHP are very limited and I can’t create something by scratch on my own.

I’m trying to reconstruct a comment systems so that it requires a login to comment. I have a login and registration system up and it kind of works as I want, but to get that comment system to require a login (the same login) seems nill to impossible. I have tried for hours but if you don’t have enough knowledge, it is useless, I guess.

So my question is, is it as simple as just changing some lines or would I have to redo the whole system? I can give you the code if you want to, but I have no idea what part of the code you’d need so I would have to post most of it. I’m not asking if someone else can do it for me but I wonder if it’s even doable with very basic knowledge?

I wont forget about this post this time because this is something I just don’t think I can solve on my own.

Anyway, thanks in advance!

I think you would be better off installing WordPress or something similar to it. It would make your life easier, specially if you have no real desire in learning PHP. Just some food for thought.

Yeah, I just had that thought myself so I actually installed wordpress and then came here

I would have nothing against learning PHP, but I want the site up and running pretty soon and learning something takes months - if not years. I have the patience though, but not the time.
