internet explorer redirecting

Hi all, Hoping the experts could help me??? I have tried searching this on the net but havent found anything specific. I am a complete newbie to the field of web design so plese be gentle on me. I recently created a website www.petevincentphotography.co.uk and predominantly used flash due to it being easier for me than java. (like I said complete novice!!) Well of course flash doesnt work on iphone so I thought i’d make a mobile version which I am still playing around with. I have a mobile redirect php which works well on all browsers apart from internet explorer. On some p.c’s internet explorer is redirecting to the mobile version. would anyone kindly look at the check browser script I am using and offer any help?

many thanks

Pete

Hi,

Yes, this is because when you check by placing this code “echo $text = $_SERVER[‘HTTP_USER_AGENT’];exit;” in .php file and check it in IE8 or IE7 it will dispplay like “Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0/MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.1; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; Tablet PC 2.0)”.
and you first varible is “$var[0] = ‘Mozilla/4.’;” so it find this string and it will redirect you to mobile version.

Hi, thanks for your reply though being a complete novice, what do I need to change so it just redirects mobiles?
Many thanks in advance
Pete
