Hello to all 
I’m new here & I l have a forum that I run & I have a mate that set it up for me a couple of years ago & has been going great but 2 days ago our forum to me & a couple of other users is a read only forum & to most it comes up with a white page with the following message
Not able to open ./…/cache/data_global.php
Can anyone out there help me with this as it is our 4x4 club forum & we have a show on in 2 weeks & this is the main way our club reaches out to people. My mate who normally helps me cant even get on ???

This might be the problem as it is not a page it is trying to open a folder named php. Find out the actual link to you forum page (internet history) might sort it.
(waiting for others to call me an idiot haha)

or…maybe the forum you used has now been outdated, if you are using an external sites forum software.
If the forum is actually owned by someone else as you just have a forum account with them, that might be the problem. Check account details.

maybe the file has been moved - check your hosting page and see if it is still there.
change your folder permissions to 777 - in your hosting site.
ORRRRRRR
just delete the data_global.php file from inside the cache folder, in theory if the permissions are set correctly on the cache folder it will be recreated on the next use of the forum and thus be fixed.

When one of my mates comes back from camping this weekend who help set it up I’ll show him your reply’s & see if that helps him
The forum needed to be updated but thebloke who does it for me can’t get onto the forum as it has the error page for him
