Everything's an APP!

I’m not sure if it’s just my old-skool mentality, but it kinda bugs me how everything is referred to as an App these days, even a web page/portal.

I know that technically it’s just an abbreviated term for web application or mobile application, but a website is a website, raw coded or cms driven.

Is it just me?

It’s not just you.

I find it particularly annoying when the term comes up in a project kickoff. If you can keep the group using the term “website” then it’s easier to keep the scope nice and focused on accepting input and showing information. Once something’s an app everything seems to get a bit… dynamic.
