Disable hyperlink for the current menu

Hello, is there an easy way to disable the menu for the page that you’re currently viewing?

eg: My website looks like this

Home | about | contact | something else | …

If I’m on the about page, the hyperlink for “about” should be disable, If I’m on the homepage, the hyperlink for “Home” should be disable etc…Is this possible?

You can do it with javascript probably. It can be done with php, but its trickey and often buggy.
