ive been going along with a tutorial on youtube on how to build a ecommerce php website with a back end.
i thought the best way to learn is by following along, reading comments of code and to get use to typing it as i go along.
since he is American he uses the function setlocal(LC_MONETARY,“en_US”);
i went to php.net and looked up in the manual to set your local to british you must change the US to GB however when i load the page it comes up with a square box infront of the number istead of GBP or the £ sign
so i created a test page, where i copied text from php.net and placed it on my server to check if it was a server issue or the code was wrong however it worked fine www.alphaxen.com/test.php. and it is the same setlocale for my cart and the test pages.
so i dont understand why when i place setlocal(LC_MONETARY,“en_US”); or my cart page it works and gives me a dollar sign before the value and when i enter setlocal(LC_MONETARY,“en_GB”); it gives me a box rather then GBP or the pound sign
