CNN and Moat ads

When I look at the network trace, when loading CNN.COM - It fetches a few javascript files from js.moatads.com.

But going through the HTML source and all the linked JS in the HTML source, I can’t figure out where it’s calling these URLS from.

Someone point me in the right direction.

If I visit cnn.com no files seem to be loaded from that domain. Googling the name itself gave some alarming results

Yes, it appears that moatads is a virus. Just do a Google search on " what is moatads " or " what is js.moatads.com " and every page talks about it being bad. So, perhaps your cnn.com is not infected, but your system or browser. I would first look in your browser for plugins and clear your browser cache!

I think it’s an advertising plugin. https://www.moat.com/
