changing data from one forum to another

hello,
i am trying to change data from on forum to another. the forum version that the data is currently on is 2.0.11 and i need to change the data over to a forum running 2.0.21. all i am looking to do is transfer all the posts and data in the posts to the new forum. do i need to set up the forum structure first. i have tried to take a backup and restore it however it has not worked.

Sounds like third-party software. In which case our advise is: read the software manufacturer’s FAQ, search their forums and send them the problem to solve

thank you for the responce i will send them an email. i have already searched the php website for clues. but i had not thought of sending them an email. thank you
