i need help with php im new at php and have no idea what the problem is.....

do you have access to your php.ini

and php extensions

extension=php_sockets.dll is one that needs to be un semicolon
it will look like ;extension=php_sockets.dll

just take the semicolon off and restart the web server

i got it to somewhat work on wamx but it still has errors and the top is on the side instead of at the top and it doesnt have my catagories options on the side so my only guess is its a problem with the wamp server

whispering {what are the errors};

on the catagories page the errors are…

i got everthing working except the catagories but i think its the host sites if you want to look at the errors you can at http://phpservertesting.zxq.net and http://phptesting1987.netau.net they both have 2 different errors but other than that i got everything else working

if anyone knows a good free hosting site that allows sockets let me know. thanks.

Just a question, do you just want forums with chat or a whole site using like a CMS which contains like a shout box, forums, and the ability to do many other pages and what not. There is a CMS I have coded for which is called Evo Xtreme, ( http://evolution-xtreme.com ), and with that CMS it uses a variant of phpbb2X for the forums called bb2nuke. It has the stock shoutbox which works okay. A friend of mine re-worked it a bit on his site and put it over his forums, which can only be see if your logged in, http://www.headshotdomain.net

Their is also a live chat system called Live Chat. there are two versions, I know one will work with Nuke Evo and the other will work with RavenNuke. RavenNuke is more for business like sites where Nuke Evo is more for clans/guilds, (Gaming communities). But this live chat unlike the shout-box refreshes every second so its like a messenger for your website, so you can talk with them and see their reply’s almost instant, where the shout-box someone post and as soon as the page is refreshed they will see it and it scrolls like the last 20 or so shouts.

Not sure if these will be a better option then using the older phpbb2 forums system that is not supported anymore. Both these CMS systems are easy to install and there are a good community of people that support and script for the CMS. Just food for a thought. Well, good luck.
