Installing PHP on Windows Server 2012R2

I have a Windows Server 2012R2 running IIS 8.5. Is there some documentation on what needs to be configured in both IIS and PHP to get them working?
I have installed PHP 7.2.0, tried to configure the php.ini file, but nothing is working correctly.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Microsoft has an application Web Platform Installer that can install PHP and a lot of the necessary addons. One of them is PHP manager which allows you to manage the install directly from IIS. You can install and maintain several versions with PHP manager.
