redirect to a user specific area that is created when registered

i am stuck from the very get go on this one probably since im very tired but here we go......... i would like to have a user or group specific page to be created after a user has been register with my website. the would have to be able to upload files with certain extensions and be able to customize the page with a css generator.
This is pretty much what i have in mind and would really appreciate any and all help given.


Log in--->gives you the username&password--->which gives you a way to identify a webpage--->automatically makes a generic page--->insert username&password into php to redirect you to the user specific page---->check user specific info against page required info or some other security.


please help or direct me to an already open topic similar to this.
